Description

The year 1991 was Schumacher’s first big year in Formula 1. Michael Schumacher, at that time 22 years old, was not actually planned for this season in F1. Bertrand Gachot, driver in the team of Eddie Jordan, could not take part in the first race in Spa – Belgium. Gachot was arrested after an alleged irritant gas attack. After a lot of pressure from team manager Foster and designer Gary Anderson, Schumacher was finally accepted into the team.

Schumacher lived in a kind of youth hostel during the race weekend. In spite of incorrect statements, Schumacher had never driven on this track before. So he just rode the track by bike to get to know it a bit better.

In the qualifying Schumacher could drive the Jordan Ford 191 with the famous 7Up-paint the eighth-fastest time and could therefore start the race from 7th place. After he was able to fight his way up to 5th place in the actual race on 25 August 1991, his clutch failed and Schumacher could not continue.

This miniature vehicle shows the Ford 191 with the 7Up lacquer finish in true to original replica. This model in scale 1/18 is strictly limited to 300 pieces. This collector’s item will be delivered in an exclusive folding box.
